Kayak Stabilizers

$99.00
Model
9.5ft Raptor Fin Drive Modular Kayak

Standing up to cast is where a kayak stops being a boat and starts being a fishing platform — and outriggers are what make standing feel safe. These inflatable stabilizers mount to the side of your ReelYaks kayak and add a huge amount of secondary stability, whether you're paddling, sitting and fishing, or up on your feet working a bank.

For fly anglers this matters more than it does for gear fishermen. You need both hands for the rod, you're shifting your weight through every cast, and you're often looking down at the water rather than at your own feet. Outriggers take the wobble out of all of that so you can concentrate on the fish.

What you get

  • A pair of inflatable outriggers that inflate and deflate in seconds — no pump wrestling at the ramp
  • Aluminium alloy arms, strong and durable, with secure locking at the end of each arm
  • Repair patches and mounting hardware included
  • Easy to install and remove, so you can run them only when you want them

Choosing the right fit

Select your kayak model from the options above. These are sized for ReelYaks hulls across the range, from the 9.5ft Raptor and Raider through the 10ft Radar, 10.8ft Rapido, and 11ft Rubicon.

Good to know

Outriggers add stability, not speed — you'll feel a little more drag when paddling, which is a fair trade for being able to stand in a chop or lean out to net a fish. Many anglers run them for the fishing and pull them off for long crossings. They're also worth considering for anyone getting back on the water after an injury, or taking a kid out for the first time.

Pair them with a dry bag to keep your gear safe on deck, and see the full kayak range.
