What is the Fly Fishing Insider Podcast about?
The Fly Fishing Insider Podcast is a conversation show, not a tips show. Each episode is a long interview with somebody who does this for a living: a guide who fishes one river 200 days a year, a lodge owner who has watched a fishery change over decades, a fly tyer who developed a pattern that is now in everyone's box, a biologist working on a river restoration. Christian Bacasa hosts, and has run the show since taking it over from its original host, Greg Keenan, in June 2021.
Who hosts the podcast?
Christian Bacasa hosts the Fly Fishing Insider Podcast and owns the Fly Fishing Insider Podcast, Blog and Shop under Bacasa Industries LLC, based in Park City, Utah. He has roughly 25 years of fly fishing experience, guides in Utah, and has fished and hosted anglers in Alaska, Belize, Mexico, the Florida Keys and across the American West. Episodes recorded before June 2021 were hosted by Greg Keenan, and those episode pages credit him. Read the full story of how the show started.
How are the episode write-ups put together?
Each write-up opens with the short answer to the question the episode asks, embeds the episode so you can listen or watch on the page, and breaks the conversation into the specific questions it answers. The deepest write-ups are built from the episode transcript; the rest are built from the show notes. Every page names the guest, links the related reading on this site, and carries the episode's own structured data.
