Which playlist should a new listener start with?
Start with the species or water you fish most. Freshwater trout anglers usually get the most from the Trout, Dry Fly and Nymphing playlists; lake anglers should go straight to Stillwater, and anyone planning a trip should start with Travel or Saltwater. If you only have five minutes, the Tips & Tricks playlist is built from short how-to episodes that each cover one skill.
How are the playlists put together?
Every episode was sorted from its written summary on this site (most of which are built from the episode transcript) and from the original show notes, then checked by hand. An episode can sit in more than one playlist, so a steelhead trip to British Columbia shows up in both Steelhead and Travel.
Can I read the episodes instead of listening?
Yes. Every episode has its own written page in the podcast archive, with the key questions it answers, the guest, and the episode embedded so you can listen on the page. The Tips Library collects the end-of-show tip from each guest.
