Fly Tyer Review Policy

Fly Fishing Insider (FFIP, operated by Bacasa Industries LLC) lets anglers rate and review Featured Fly Tyers in the Custom Fly Tyer Directory. This policy explains how ratings work and how we use the information you give us.
Who can be rated
Only Featured Fly Tyers (paid listings) can be rated. Free listings are not part of the rating system. Featured Fly Tyers pay FFIP for an enhanced listing; payment never affects their ratings, their position in rating filters, or which reviews we publish.
Who can leave a rating
- Anyone with a valid email address. We email you a link, and your rating only counts after you confirm it.
- One rating per email address per fly tyer. Submitting again replaces your earlier rating.
- Fly tyers, their staff and their family may not rate their own listing or a competitor's. No one may offer or accept payment, free flies or discounts in exchange for a rating.
What we publish
We publish every honest rating, positive or negative. Star-only ratings appear as soon as you confirm them. Written comments are reviewed first, usually within a day, and are removed or rejected only if they:
- are rude, hateful, threatening, obscene or harassing;
- contain personal information (phone numbers, home addresses, emails), links or spam;
- are off-topic, not based on your own experience, or appear fake or paid for;
- break the law or infringe someone else's rights.
We may fix obvious formatting but never change the meaning of a review or its star rating.
Fly tyer replies
Featured Fly Tyers are notified of new reviews and may post one public reply per review. Replies follow the same content rules.
How we use your information
- Your display name, rating, comment and the date appear publicly. Your email is never shown.
- We use your email to confirm your rating and to prevent fake or duplicate reviews.
- If you leave a written comment, you agree to receive emails from Fly Fishing Insider (podcast episodes, articles, trips, gear and offers). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not remove your review.
- We do not sell your email. See our Privacy Policy for more.
Removing or reporting a review
To remove your own review, or to report a review that breaks this policy, email christian@flyfishinginsiderpodcast.com with the fly tyer's name and the review date.
FFIP does not sell flies from the directory and does not endorse or guarantee any fly tyer. Orders, pricing and shipping are between you and the tyer.
