Hazy Olive Balanced Leech

The Hazy Olive Balanced Leech is a deadly stillwater fly that was purpose-built for suspended presentation under an indicator. Hazy Fly Fishing designed this pattern with the balanced fly philosophy in mind — tied on a jig-style hook with a centered bead that keeps the fly riding perfectly horizontal, mimicking a live leech swimming with natural undulation.

The olive marabou body breathes and pulses with every subtle movement, making it irresistible to trout, bass, and other predatory fish. The olive color is especially effective in clear to slightly stained water, where it closely matches damselfly nymphs, leeches, and other subsurface prey.

Fish it beneath a strike indicator at the depth where fish are holding, or cast along weed edges and retrieve with a slow hand-twist. This is a confidence fly that produces when nothing else will, particularly during post-spawn periods and on stillwaters where leeches are a staple of the trout diet.
