Last Chance Cripple — The Selective Trout Closer
When trout are locked into a hatch and refusing everything you throw, the Last Chance Cripple is the fly that breaks the stalemate. It imitates a mayfly that failed to fully escape its shuck — stuck in the surface film, wings crumpled, body cocked at an angle. To a selective trout, it's the easiest meal in the drift. That vulnerable, disheveled profile triggers strikes when perfect imitations get refused.
